A late equalizer from Chisom Ogbonna sealed a point for the Azaleas in their GCPL opener against Tallahassee Soccer Club.
The Azaleas opened the scoring in the 12th minute with a goal from Iba Ndaw at the top of the six-yard box assisted by Sam Blackburn.
The Battle Lions equalized in the 30th minute with a shot chipped over keeper Domenic Nascimben. The away team scored a beautiful curling free kick in the 86th minute to give them a 2-1 lead.
The Azaleas clinched the draw with a header from Ogbonna in the 90th minute.
AFC Mobile will travel to Hattiesburg on Saturday to take on Hattiesburg FC. The Azaleas will return home on Saturday, May 25th to take on reigning Gulf Coast Premier League champions Port City FC in the first leg of the Forgotten Coast Cup.
